How is female circumcision possible?

You can't "circumcise" a female. Clitorises don't have foreskins. You can only cut the entire thing off and possibly ruin her life.

    There’s a variety of procedures commonly called “female circumcision.” They include:

    1. paritally sewing closed the vagina
    2. Piercing the clitoris
    3. Removing the clitoris

  7. crapbag Says:

    It’s called female genital mutilation. “Female circumcision” isn’t really the correct term.

  10. Genegee Says:

    Not too many years ago they were doing the very things you said that can not be done in Africa. It was televised. Suggest you look up National Geographic and you might possibly find an article about that very subject.

  11. Frankie Says:

    Just google it for the most graphic pictures you will not want to see. It is torture and mutilation of females (some of them very young indeed) to prevent them having sex before marriage. Yes, it does ruin the lives of many women. There is no joy in having sex for these women. Unless it has been successful reversed (for marriage) sex is a further torture of these unfortunate women. The men who are eager to have this done think that sex is purely for their benefit and pleasure. Another cruel belief from a cruel belief system.

    These men must care absolutely nothing about the feelings of others, but, sadly, if is women who perform these ‘operations’. They probably are afraid to refuse.

    Exactly.

  13. Jingizu Says:

    The World Health Organisation identifies 4 different types of female circumcision, better known as Female Genital Mutilation [FGM], i.e.

    Type I – partial or total removal of the clitoris and/or the clitoral hood;
    Type II – partial or total removal of the clitoris and the labia minora, with or without excision of the labia majora;
    Type III – narrowing of the vaginal orifice with creation of a covering seal by cutting and repositioning the labia minora and/or the labia majora, with or without excision of the clitoris. This is the most extensive form of FGM and accounts for about 10% of all FGM procedures described from Africa. It is also known as “pharaonic circumcision” and is considered the worst and medically the most dangerous of the 4 different procedures; and
    Type IV – other forms of FGM, collectively referred to as Type IV, that may or may not involve tissue removal such as pricking, piercing, incising, scraping and cauterization. This includes a diverse range of practices, such as pricking the clitoris with needles, burning or scarring the genitals as well as ripping or tearing of the vagina.

  16. Red Doll Shoes Says:

    Clitorises are hooded. Remember we were all women in utero so our genitals still somewhat resemble each other on the outside.

  17. Bobby The Wolf - in a Cowboy Hat Says:

    Female Circumcision is the (partial or whole) removal of the clitoris. Unlike with male circumcision female circumcision causes immense pain throughout the girls life.

    FGM (female genital mutilation) and MGM (male genital mutilation), are not the same thing.

  18. Debbie Says:

    Often it involved removing the clitoris, sewing the vagina partially or entirely shut, or cutting off the labia.

    The goal is to make sex excruciatingly painful for women.

  19. e w Says:

    The female foreskin is the clitoral hood, formed by the labia, and it is analogous with the male foreskin.

    Female circumcision is removal of the clitoral hood. Removal of the clitoris is a clitorectomy, and is sometimes done at the same time as a female circumcision by primitive people, especially in a few areas of Africa, to “insure female fidelity” by removing most of the enjoyment of sex.

    Male circumcision also removes much of the enjoyment of sex, which is why it was used more than 100 years ago to try to prevent boys from masturbating.

    All circumcision, male or female, is genital mutilation, and male circumcision should be as illegal to force on male minors as it is for female minors in all civilized countries (except Sudan).

    Circumcision is a fraud and a hoax.

    A foreskin is not a birth defect; it is a birthright.

  20. Connor Says:

    The clitoris DOES have a prepuce, it’s called the clitoral hood. And female circumcision doesn’t involve removing the clitoris, that’s female genital mutilation. Female circumcision involves removing the clitoral hood and can sometimes remove the inner or/and outer labia and sometimes the vagina is sewn together.
    There are many different types but female circumcision has nothing to do with cutting the actual clitoris.

  21. Ginger Says:

    There are various kinds of female circumcision (the more politically correct term is “female genital cutting”). Sometimes they remove the clitoris, sometimes they remove the entire clitoral hood, and sometimes they trim the labia (to make it more “attractive” to men and less dirty… as if a natural, healthy body part could possibly be dirty unlesss you completely avoid bathing). All circumcision is horrible and flat-out stupid, female and male.
