How long does it take for an ear piercing to grow back?

My school is strict on earring, and since I got my ears pierced I have to wear a plastic stud for 6 weeks. Since I got caught, i had take it out. How long does it take for an ear piercing to grow back? Could I take it out during school hours and put it back in after school? Or will that just make matters worse?

If your school is strict on earrings then why go through all that for nothing? Usually the first couple weeks after the piercing is when it will heal and close if the stud is not in. Its hard to tell since everyone heals differently. You should have waited till summer to do it atleast that way by time school starts the hole would be practically permanent.

Wear flesh colored earrings. They wont even know.

Wear flat earrings with no metal and put cover up over the front of them, and dust them with foundation so that they are not visible. OR get clear plastic studs for school time ONLY. and replace them with proper metal ones when you get home for sleeping in. Your body heals most when you are sleeping. It depends on how long your ears have been pierced for. By example: I’ve had my first piercing for 8 years. I’ve left them out for months at a time and it doesn’t ever go away. My second one: 5 years, it’ll close up partiall if I leave it out longer than a week, and then I have to re-pierce it with the earring.
