How long does it take a lip piercing to close?

I've had it for about 2 years now and I just got a job that doesn't allow any type of facial piercing. I decided to just take it out while at work, but I'll be working for 12 hours straight. How long does it take to close up, in general? Tks in advance.

It should be okay as long as you put it back in once you get out of work.

I suggest getting a retainer, it’s a clear lip ring and it makes it pretty invisible. A lot of people use them for jobs, and you can get them for 5 for a dollar. It probably wouldn’t close up after having it for so long, but you can’t really be sure. Every body is different.

It really depends on the person.I’ve had mine for over a year and I can’t take mine out for very long at all cause it will start to close. Then again I have extremely sensitive skin and my piercings close faster then anyone I know.I would get a retainer just to be safe.

I agree about the comment regarding the retainer. You can get them in clear glass, or bioplast, and they are virtually invisible. I’ve gone to job initerviews with it and nobody can notice it. And there is no irritation when I put my regular jewelry back in.
